Reading the reviews at first I didn't want to come with the group I came in with. I hurt my knee a few months ago and going up the huge staircase was dangerous. I am thankful for them giving food to the poor but the attitude of the staff is see-able as rude and act in accord of power when they want people to stand. Will be able to update review once I serve food.

The best thing about Glide is that they take developmentally disabled individuals off the street and give them jobs as security guards. They are very lucky because there is no way anybody else would hire them.
It's very Christ like of Glide to take pity upon certain individuals and give them jobs. But how about giving them training and supervision as well?
This "security" staff creates an atmosphere that is so hostile many people refuse to eat there. For instance: I walked in one time and accidentally spilled a couple of drops of coffee in the lobby. I immediately apologized and asked if I could have a paper towel or mop to clean it up. The "security" guard said "don't worry about it". Then I jokingly said "you're lucky I didn't spill the whole thing". To which he got very loud and angry and screamed "I'm LUCKY? I'm LUCKY?". Then I just quietly tiptoed out of there.
Another time I'm standing in line not moving at all and the dude in a yellow jacket comes up to me and says "I want you to stand right there".
Then he put his hands on me to hold me still which was so unnecessary when I wasn't even moving in the first place. I looked over at the other guard and she radioed to tell him "please don't touch the clients".
Today I was on my way to Glide because it's cheeseburger day when I saw a homeless man with a sign saying "dreaming of a cheeseburger". I invited him to join me. He said "I don't go to Glide. They give me panic attacks." I said " I hear ya brother. I hear ya"Added December 13, 2016 by Patrick Flanagan - ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Hi. I'm writing everyone that goes to church for their help, my daughter needs a heart transplant, and I'm asking everyone on earth to please give just one dollar, if you can thank you, if you can't I know times are hard, see I'm a single father that's not to proud to beg for help, my daughter has 6 months to live, and I need everyone's help, if you do decide to give, go to my go fund me page, and look up zoepigg, if you can't give thanks. See friends there's this thing called a donor list and the only ones that moves up the list is the Rich, if you don't have any money your child moves to the bottom of the list, no matter how long they've been on that list, the rich is the only ones that gets a new heart for their child, and my daughter has been on that list for 11 months,. If you give thanks. Thank you and God bless you. Oh and one more thing, when you go to church this Sunday, can you please say a prayer for my daughter, thanks

Cool place that provides public services such as food, medical help, legal advice, needle exchange, etc. I've volunteered here for the past few months, and am really glad to be apart of an organization that makes a difference in such a troubled area. I highly recommend volunteering here, if you are interested.
